Bose is voluntarily recalling bass modules manufactured before 1 April 2006 that were sold with select Acoustimass, Lifestyle and Companion home cinema systems. Under very rare circumstances, electrical components within the bass module may fail and may have low risk of ignition around the electrical components.
To determine if your bass module is affected, follow the steps below. If your bass module is included in the recall, please stop using it and unplug it from the electrical socket immediately.
Unplug your bass module from the electrical socket. Turn your bass module so you can view the label. Find your product name and serial number on the label. The product name is located at the top of the label next to the Bose logo. The serial number is described as “SER. NO.” or “SERIAL NUMBER”. See examples below. Your label may look slightly different from these images.
If your product name is “ACOUSTIMASS 6 III HOME ENT. SYSTEM” or “ACOUSTIMASS 15 II HOME ENT. SYSTEM”, go to Step 4 below to determine if your bass module is included in the recall. If your product name is something else, open the product list via the button below and match the product name on your label with the product list.
If the product list indicates that your bass module is included in the recall, please go to Step 5 below for instructions on how to return it
If your product name is “ACOUSTIMASS 6 III HOME ENT. SYSTEM” or “ACOUSTIMASS 15 II HOME ENT. SYSTEM”, look at the serial number on your bass module (you can find your serial number as shown above in “Step 2”).
If you have determined that your bass module is included in the recall by following the steps above, stop using it immediately and do not plug it in or reconnect it to electrical power. Return your bass module and we will repair it free of charge.
